This morning we held our first session for Early Childhood Parents enrolled at Bayou Village School to talk about incorporating Waldorf methods at home.
Today we covered rhythm. We handed out the thoughtful article Daily Rhythms At Home and Its Lifelong Relevance written by Helle Heckmann, a Waldorf teacher from Denmark. It covers breathing in with your child to connect with him/her, to be present with them, and then breathing out where he/she has free play. It covers setting limits and trying to observe a daily routine.
Topics coming up next are food, warmth, toys and media. We welcome parents to join us at our next Parent Education Class, December 1st from 8:30am-9:15am in the Sweet Peas Kindergarten room.
This is Bayou Village School's space to share stories, happenings, recipes, ideas, and garden and festival life, associated with our magical school.
