Admissions and Fees

"Receive the child in reverence, educate them in love, and send them forth in freedom."
- Rudolph Steiner

Thank you for considering Bayou Village School for the education of your most precious gift, your child. We look forward to meeting you and getting to know your family and hope that this is the beginning of a wonderful new journey for you. Below are the steps necessary prior to enrolling into one of our programs. If you have any questions regarding this process, you can email our enrollment director Maryoceane Guy at enroll@bayouvillageschool.org.

Step 1

COVID 19 Update:

Prospective families signed up for a cancelled tour or open house event will be contacted via email about moving forward without an in person visit. Families interested in enrolling in the 2020-2021 school year can contact our enrollment director at enroll@bayouvillageschool.org.

Our admissions process starts with School Visits, in the form of a tour or Visitor Morning or Evening. This is an opportunity for you to obtain general information about our programs and for us to learn more about your child and family. Bayou Village School accepts applications year round, provided there is space available.

Step 2

We ask you then to go through our application process which starts with completing an Application for Admission online. If desired, parents can also complete an application for Tuition Assistance at the same time. Tuition assistance is only available for our Kindergarten and Grades programs.

Step 3

COVID 19 Update:
Families who have completed an application for an enrollment spot in the 2020-2021 school year will be contacted via email to set up a virtual interview.

After receiving your child's application we will arrange a parent interview with the class teacher. In some cases, we may invite your child to come visit the classroom in order to further explore whether our school is a good fit for your family.
Within a week, you will receive a decision regarding your acceptance for that school year.

Financial Aid Information

Bayou Village School is committed to the principle that every child should be able to attend our school. We offer a program for tuition assistance to help families meet the expenses of private education.

Bayou Village School is nonsectarian and does not discriminate on the basis of race, gender, sexual orientation, religion and national or ethnic origin in its administrative or admissions policies. Bayou Village School strives for a cultural and economic diversity in its student body that reflects that of the broader community to which it belongs.

Eligibility
Tuition assistance is available on the basis of need. Bayou Village School expects all families to take a hard look at their finances to determine ways to make tuition fall within their budgetary means before turning to tuition assistance. A general guideline for eligibility is that a family should devote 8% to 15% of their gross annual income to the education of their children. This range takes into account several different family circumstances including the cases of single and divorced parents. These guidelines are not fixed and all applications are reviewed on an individual basis. Accordingly, special circumstances that can profoundly affect a family’s financial resources are considered in an appropriate manner.

Programs for which Assistance is Available
Children in only the Kindergarten and Grades classes are eligible for assistance. Assistance does not cover any fees other than monthly tuition.

Application Procedure
To apply for financial aid, please submit your financial aid documents and application with your admissions application. Your application for financial aid will be processed while your family interviews with us, and you will receive notice of your aid approval within 1-2 weeks of accepted application.

Awards
There is a limited amount of financial assistance to be granted. The Board strives to award these funds with overall needs of the community in mind. Awards of tuition assistance generally range between 5% and 50% of a family’s total tuition cost. All grants are made at the sole discretion of Bayou Village School’s Board of Directors.

Awards are made for a period of up to one academic year and are subject to adjustments for changes to your enrollment in Bayou Village School programs. Those seeking assistance for more than one academic year must reapply. Receipt of tuition assistance does not guarantee that assistance will be available in the following year. A family may apply for tuition assistance each year they participate in the educational programs of Bayou Village School.
