Bayou Village School is seeking a full-time administrative director, who will provide administrative support to our faculty and parents, be in charge of licensing requirements as well as work on compliance with WECAN requirements. The administrative director must have at least five years teaching experience and school administrative experience is a plus.
Bayou Village School is looking for a teacher who will teach its elementary grades students how to knit, crochet, cross stitch and embroider, etc. A good description of the Waldorf handwork curriculum can be found here. This position could be combined with another part-time position for more hours.
We are looking for a teacher who can teach Spanish with a lively, hands-on, oral approach to our First Grade class. This teacher will teach a 1-hour lesson three times a week either in the late morning or early afternoon.
Kindergarten Assistant Teacher
Our Kindergarten class consists of children ages 4 - 6 years old. This assistant teacher will work together with the lead Kindergarten teacher to run this class. This teacher will already have a Waldorf teaching certificate or will pursue Waldorf teacher training in the future. The school is willing to help pay for such training.
Nursery Classroom Assistant
This Assistant will work together with the Sunflower Garden Class Teacher to nurture the youngest members (2 - 3 year olds) of our school community. This person enjoys working with young children and has an interest and open mind to learn more about Waldorf education, possibly pursuing Waldorf Early Childhood teacher training in the future. This person has to have at least a Highschool degree and some experience working with young children.
Before-Care / Floater Teacher
This person arrives at the school at 7:15pm to open the school doors and welcomes children who get dropped off early. This person will have a food handling license and will help us keep our kitchen clean and tidy. On days we don't have cleaning staff, this person will also help the assistants and teachers keep the bathrooms clean. Furthermore this person will work in all the classrooms as needed, helping with supervising children, cleaning up and being an extra set of eyes supervising children outdoors. If one of the early childhood teachers or assistants is ill, this person will fill in as the substitute. This person needs to be very organized and experience working with young children is a big plus.
