The Toddler Program is for children aged approximately 9 months old by the beginning of the school year to almost 2 years old. The class is designed to help children develop motor and cognitive skills naturally according to their innate timetables instead of hindering or otherwise interfering with these organic processes. We foster them by allowing toddlers to move and play freely in a warm, nurturing, home-like environment.
A Home Away from Home
Our primary role is to develop trust. We do that by appreciating and respecting toddlerhood as a unique and valuable stage of the human lifecycle.
In addition, we feel that partnering and working with parents' knowledge and instincts regarding their child enriches the lives of their children as well as adults. When parents and teachers work together children thrive! We understand the importance to creating an environment that is home-like for young children away from their parents, especially for the first time.
Our toddler classrooms are magically lit and filled with natural toys made of cloth, wood, and felt. Toddlers are encouraged to explore the environment around them in a warm and nurturing space. Their days are filled with song, story, play, and plenty of outdoor time.
We support cloth diapers and breastfeeding!
Toddler classrooms have 10 children with 3 teachers. Children are expected to be at least 9 months by the beginning of the school year. Children enrolling mid-year should adhere to these age guidelines as well as we keep children in the same classroom for the entire academic year.

Meet the Teachers
Rosebuds Lead Teacher: Andrea Cruz Andrea graduated from Houston Community College with an associate degree in applied science in Child Development with Honors in 2022. This was a dream of hers to complete college and graduate. She did this to show her girls that you can achieve your career at any age and that it is never too late. Working with children is her passion. She loves teaching infants, toddlers, and children their social-emotional, cognitive, and fine motor skills, and lessons that are developmentally appropriate. Her Philosophy is that children's minds are like sponges they absorb all of the information that is brought to them by teachers, parents, and the community. The children are our future. Andrea's hobbies are cooking, dancing, arts and crafts, and spending time with family.
