Winter Faire

Winter Faire is a longtime tradition in Waldorf Schools, where the entire community comes together to celebrate the beginning of winter and create a space of warmth and light. Since 2013, Bayou Village School's Winter Faire has invited Bayou Village families and the local community to embark on a journey to engage all senses by making crafts with natural materials, participating in games and activities, enjoying homemade baked goods, shopping for beautiful wares from local artisans, exploring handmade crafts from our community, and enjoying a menu curated by local Houston chefs. Live music, puppet shows, and special guest appearances by King Winter and the Pocket Lady are key features of the Winter Faire festivities.

Winter Faire is an entirely volunteer-driven fundraising initiative, organized and executed by the Bayou Family Council (BFC), which serves as the school's PTO. The event is our largest fundraising festival, allowing the BFC to commit funds to projects such as creating a school garden, supporting professional development for our teachers, and building and grounds improvements and upgrades.
